(CONCORD, N.C. – July 7, 2015) – Chase Briscoe, 20, a second-generation racer from Mitchell, Ind., will attempt to make his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut in the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, Ind. July 24. Briscoe will pilot a No. 72 Ford Fusion for Cunningham Motorsports. Team officials made the announcement recently. "I can't thank Briggs (Cunningham) and Kerry (Scherer) enough for believing in me and giving me a shot," Briscoe said. "It is great equipment so I am excited to get onto the track and make a big impression on the ARCA world." The event is a culmination of a three year effort by Briscoe to ascend the stock car racing ladder after a productive young career in Indiana Sprint Cars. After finishing runner-up in the inaugural televised PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge, Briscoe made three NASCAR K&N Pro Series West starts in 2013. He qualified in the top-10 twice and scored a best finish of eighth at Albuquerque, New Mexico in his first three stock car starts. Briscoe relocated to Concord, N.C. and earned a test at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville with Cunningham Motorsports. Following a strong test, Briscoe has been working in the shop while continuing to commute to the Midwest for selected open wheel events. "It's a tough balance between being down (in North Carolina) working at the shop and driving back to the Midwest to race," Briscoe said. "But getting the opportunity I have been given has made it all worth it." The Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway is part of the Brickyard 400 weekend in Indianapolis. The 200 lap race around the 5/8ths mile oval will go green at 9 p.m. ET and will air on Fox Sports 1.
